WHO WE ARE
The West Galveston Island Property Owners Association (WGIPOA), first organized in March 1999, consists of representatives from 38 property owner associations across the West End of Galveston Island working together to improve the quality of life and preserve the Island’s coastal environment for all West End residents. WGIPOA is a 501(c)4 non-profit volunteer organization.
MISSION STATEMENT
The WGIPOA strives to enhance the quality of life for all West End residents by promoting responsible development while helping to preserve and protect the Island’s coastal marine environment.
HOW WE DELIVER
- Holds monthly meetings (open to the public) with key government (City, County, State) and industry officials to discuss issues, exchange ideas, and communicate needs to enhance the quality of life across West Galveston Island.
- Donates to key Organizations responsible for ensuring the socioeconomic and environmental health of Galveston Island.
- Maintains a keen focus on preservation of beach and shoreline areas, marshes and wetlands.
- Supports environmental conservation programs
- Assist member-HOAs resolve challenges by sharing best-practices
- Participates in volunteer events designed to enhance the natural environment and way-of-life on the West End
