PROGRAM:  This is our annual joint town meeting with the City of Jamaica Beach on Hurricane Planning/Evacuation/Recovery.  Please see the attached agenda and you will see why this is a very important meeting to attend for the west end.  June 1 begins the start of hurricane season and we already have three named storms, “Alex” in January,  “Bonnie” in May, and just recently “Colin”!  It will be eight years in September since “Ike” and hopefully we will  be spared this year from a storm.  However, we cannot rest on our laurels and we must be prepared and the reason for you to attend this meeting in Jamaica Beach.     We have great topics and speakers in preparing and recovering from a storm event.  We have booths to visit before and after the meeting and we will have food and soft drinks following the meeting.

Please see the attached agenda with outstanding speakers on what to do before the storm arrives, the process in getting back on the island, and what the city and GLO do after the storm.  Continue reading WGIPOA/Jamaica Beach Joint Meeting 6/18/16
