PROGRAM: It’s been almost nine years since Hurricane Ike devastated the island and the west end and we should not rest on our laurels and to take defensive measures in preparing for a storm event. One meeting you should attend is on June 17 when the West Galveston Island Property Owners Association and the City of Jamaica Beach have a joint meeting again on “Hurricane Planning/Evacuation/Recovery” at the Jamaica Beach Public Service Building, beginning at 10:00 AM. This marks the 17th year in having a west end meeting on hurricane preparedness and recovery so please mark your calendar to attend this important event.
